Dzisiaj rano obudziłam się w bardzo dobrym nastroju i postanowiłam przygotować dla Was wpis. Wakacje to taki czas kiedy mamy więcej czasu dla siebie, dni są dłuższe, słońce świeci, nie ma szkoły, częściej się uśmiechamy. Zapraszam na wpis o “szczęśliwych” idiomach.

6. Walk on air – to be merry, to feel like you are floating on air (być szczęśliwym)
She’s been walking on air ever since her engagement.

7. Make someone’s day – to make someone feel very happy (sprawić, że dzień będzie lepszy dla kogoś, poprawić komuś humor, uszczęśliwić kogoś)
Seeing those little kids having so much fun just made my day.

8. Have a whale of a time – to have a very good time, have an exciting or fun time (doskonale się bawić)
We had a whale of a time at the office party.

9. Like a dog with two tails – to look and be very happy. ( Dogs express happiness by wagging their tails. This is probably where the expression “like a dog with two tails” came from.) (być bardzo zadowolonym).
I just got a new bike, and I feel like a dog with two tails.

10. As happy as Larry –  When you are as happy as Larry, you are, of course, very happy (szczęśliwy jak dziecko, bardzo szczęśliwy)
My daughter was as happy as Larry with her birthday present.

11. As happy as a lark – very happy (wesoły jak szczygieł, wesoły jak skowronek, być wniebowziętym, być zadowolonym, szczęśliwym).
She’s happy as a lark with her ten dollar pay raise, even though the long-term prospects for the business are not good.

12. Full of the joys of spring – When you are energetic, cheerful and happy (cały w skowronkach)
James must have had some good news, he’s full of the joys of spring today.

13. Grin like a Cheshire cat – when one has a smile on his face being happy with something (szczerzyć zęby w uśmiechu (jak kot z Alicji w Krainie Czarów))
I knew she had succeeded when I saw her with a grin like a Cheshire cat.

14. Happy as a flea in a doghouse – to be euphoric and contented (bardzo szczęśliwy, zadowolony)
Since she moved to a smaller apartment, my mother is as happy as a flea in a doghouse!

15.Paint the town red – This idiom is used when a person is very happy and is going to go celebrate something with friends or relatives, or going out to a bar, club, or party to have a good time (zaszaleć, zabawić się na całego, pójść w tango).
I can’t wait to go out with my best friend and paint the town red!

16. Happy as a clam – very happy and comfortable (bardzo zadowolony, w swoim żywiole, jak ryba w wodzie
When her parents left for holiday, she was happy as a clam staying alone in the house.

17. Buzzing – excited for something that’s going to happen (tętniący życiem, ożywiony, wesoły)
I’m buzzing for the holidays. Imagine, we’re going on a diving trip in Spain.

18. Have a ball – to have a very enjoyable time (dobrze się bawić)
The kids really had a ball at the birthday party—they won’t stop talking about it!

19. Grin from ear to ear – This idiom describes a person’s broad smile that shows extreme happiness (uśmiechać się od ucha do ucha)
Sheila was grinning from ear to ear as she exited the exam hall.

20. Happy camper – someone who is a  happy camper is generally content or satisfied with what is happening in their lives and has no complaints (szczęśliwiec, człowiek zadowolon
